Who is Nancy?

Nancy Robinson Masters is an author, pilot, and exciting inspirational speaker for schools, churches, businesses, organizations and events. Her warmth, wit, and “down home” style motivates listeners of all ages to “keep climbing” to achieve their dreams.

Nancy is the author of more than 50 books, including award-winning books for children, and she has spoken to more than 300,000 students and teachers across America through her “Freedom to Read ‘em” Visiting Author programs. Her more the 3,000 feature articles have appeared in a variety of publications. Her writing has taken her around the world including traveling with the National Science Foundation in Antarctica.

Whether speaking to second graders in schools, or corporate executives in industry, Nancy’s message is the same: if you can read and you can write, you have power! She is the recipient of the Masonic Stephen F. Austin Community Service Award and has twice been named Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the United States Air Force.

Nancy grew up on a cotton farm in Jones County, Texas during terrible years of drought in the 1950s. She credits her success today to the values, patriotism, and work ethic instilled in her during difficult circumstances. A licensed tailwheel pilot, she lives in Callahan County near Abilene,Texas in a home built by her late husband, veteran Master Pilot Bill Masters, that adjoins a grass runway. In addition to entertaining and equipping listeners to overcome challenges, Nancy says her most important work in life is “teaching children in Sunday school.”
